Built at Wison’s shipyards in Nantong and Zhoushan, with final integration completed in Qidong, the Nguya FLNG was delivered to Eni in just 35 months from first steel cut, a fast-track benchmark for its class. Developed under a modular EPC strategy and powered by the efficient IPSMR® process, the unit has now achieved its first LNG production (“first drop”), marking a major milestone in unlocking Congo’s offshore gas resources.
Role KS
Within the Nguya FLNG project, Key Solution led the full EICT Engineering and Commissioning scope, supporting the EPC contractor and ensuring compliance with ENI Congo requirements. In a fast-track environment, we structured methodologies, aligned multidisciplinary teams, and governed the automation lifecycle. Through our proprietary H40 platform, we ensured control, traceability, and consistency across safety systems, testing phases, and field execution, delivering a compliant, robust automation solution within demanding schedule constraints.
Deliverables
Key Solution delivered control and safety logic development, Cause & Effect validation, FAT and IFAT coordination, commissioning procedures, override governance, and full EICT traceability through H40, ensuring structured documentation, test management, and technical visibility across all project phases
Results
The project achieved high engineering quality, full standards compliance, reduced rework, and on-time delivery. H40 enabled real-time progress control and risk mitigation, ensuring a reliable, fully traceable EICT system ready for safe and efficient operations. The collaboration between ENI Norge and KS led to a smooth and successful startup, the “First Oil” milestone, marking a turning point for offshore automation in the Arctic.
